Epic~♥ I have nothing to say about Itachi that I wouldn't rather express in writing (er, fic-writing, rather than blog-writing), but nimblnymph wrote up a lovely Itachi post. The comments are equally as thought-provoking, though I confess I haven't read them all. They're quite numerous and involved, and I have the attention span and mental capacity of a mayfly at the moment. (TRY TO BE A LITTLE HOTTER, CALIFORNIA. I don't have air conditioning, so I'm just... reaping the benefits one-hundred percent! :F)

One thing I do want to say, though. The new theory flying around is that Danzou, with Shisui's ability to manipulate others unbeknownst to them (which, for all its coolness and importance, was never mentioned earlier), manipulated Itachi into slaughtering the clan. As cool as mindfuck always is, I'd be disappointed were that the case. Because, personally? I don't want the blame to be on Konoha's elders. I don't want it to be on Madara (though I'm sure he contributed in hiw own way; he's Madara. He's (literally) everywhere, all the time). And I don't want it to be on Danzou. Itachi conducted the Uchiha massacre. I'd like him to take full responsibility for that.

But hey, what do I know? I just write fan fic, XD. And I will continue to do so regardless of how far from canon I end up straying.

I need to make myself a more angst Itachi icon. I use this for everything Itachi-related (discussion, fic I write, comments on fic I've read) and it is rarely ever appropriate in terms of tone/mood. XDD

At the bottom of the sink, there are two bowls and one pair of chopsticks. A film of evaporated broth coats the bowl a translucent yellow-green, and flecks of hard, dry rice from days long past stick to its sides.

Was it Mother's, from some night when she ate alone, left her chopsticks for Father to use when he returned home? Had he eaten it, some breakfast he poured down without thinking that it would be the last of its kind? (Or perhaps it was Itachi, knowing that it was.)

redbrunja started a Naruto Kink Meme over at her journal, which is probably one of the most fun things I've ever done in a fandom, ever. XD The results are amazing, too--both the breadth of pairings people requested, and the awesome, awesome way others fulfilled them. I haven't read all of them yet, but my personal favorites so far were the Kakashi/Neji (which was really amazing, despite the fact that that pairing never even occurred to me, ahaha) and the Sasuke/Orochimaru.

Watched Кукушка (2002) today. Not immediately captivating, but endearing in a way that most WWII films simply cannot be. Viekka/Anni/Ivan threesome were wonderful; the fact that throughout the entire movie none of them had any idea what the others were saying speaks volumes of the wonders of body language.

Also started taking down notes for that doujinshi I was squeeing about a few posts back. Team Hebi translates pretty easily; Kisame, too--minus the bit where he's delivering a message from Sasuke to Itachi. Said message is imbued with the quintessence of Itachi--

better known was omg i have no idea wtf you are saying. :F

Does anyone know what Itachi's line here is supposed to be? Because it is, uh, fairly central to the plot and I'd feel very silly if I got it entirely wrong. The line in context:

Thanks in advance. I will probably have more questions later on, once I remember that wow, I really suck at this. And yes, that is indeed Sasuke being Very Easy to Translate. Which is good, because when he opens his mouth, he's got some very artistic angst going on. :F

The saddest part of this is, Madara has the easiest lines to translate ever. Fucking Madara! And let me tell you, his bastardly ways are neither lost nor augmented in translation. M is M no matter what language he's in! :P

First off, I pose a question for mst classmates--guys, am I the only one who's liking The Oresteia so far? I really like Clytaemnestra. I'm not going to say she's a likable person, or an honorable one, because she's not, but I can't help but empathize with that kind of tragedy. :F

Of course, our first test was irrefutable proof of my utter inability to read, so. XD

Between now and 31 December (we're not even going to look at anything past 2008 right now...) I have a massive amount of life things to do, and I foresee it sucking veritably. I was talking to Cindy and Megan about it briefly, and wow, honestly? I have no idea how this is all going to accomplish itself. XP Ah, lackaday.

But today? Today is good.

School is about three and a half days old, but things have settled into a routine for the most part. Our first labwork day in physics is tomorrow, and we had our first English lecture today (the first two full days were spent testing, T_T).

I will say this, though: I love my English teacher. *_* We haven't had to discuss anything amongst ourselves yet, but I like the way she's set up her class, despite the immense amount of reading we're required to do. I have other classes, mst! ._.;; And I love her lectures; they are dynamic, they are direct, they are thoughtful, and they are open. Her Interpretation of the Piece isn't ever shoved down your throat, but it's clear that she has them and somehow that serves to encourage us to divine our own interpretations of a piece, of a caliber similar to hers, but often in a completely opposite direction.

And maybe it's just the excitement of a new school year and new subjects, but I keep getting these flashes of Joy of Learning. You know what I mean? (Because there is always the very likely possibility that this is just me being a freak.)

Apparently I was selected as a semifinalist for National Merit Scholarships, which sounds somewhat impressive. I haven't a clue what it is though, because I've not yet read the packet. My school counselor told me I had to write a personal essay for the application, however, so I'm a bit disappointed. XD I'm going to have to write enough of those for college applications, and really? I'm not overly fond of sharing my life with people I don't know, whether they're a scholarship board or an admissions counselor or a teacher or what.

Besides, now I have to think of something about myself that's not completely lame. XD "I'm a Girl Scout and a student, and I've spent half my life either working for aforementioned slave-driving organization or studying for classes/doing homework. In my free time, I hobo on the Internet and talk about hopelessly nerdy things and write stories about characters I didn't even create myself." As accurate as that may be, somehow I'm getting the idea that that's NOT WHAT THEY'RE LOOKING FOR. :P

Oh, and I can't wait for autumn/winter weather to set in. Words cannot express how much I love that kind of weather and the atmosphere it brings with it. I mention this now because I've been pining for it ever since school started.

There is extreme appeal in writing/working in the complete silence and darkness of early morning, with rain outside and blankets inside. ...Er. That came out much more depressive-emo than I meant it to be. XD

Next on the To Post list is a meme, because I was tagged by ellen_grieves. (No, I have not forgotten!)

Oh, and someone shoot me because I've been overtaken by this incredible urge to write Madara fic. And it's not even because I spontaneously decided that I liked him; he is still very much disgusting to me (though you've got to admit, he is damn good at what he does D:). Amber, I half want you to talk me out of this here and now. XP

P.S. BLEACH the DiamonDust Rebellion was an absolutely hilarious movie. It has the best OST Bleach has ever had, though. But I think I loved the Byakuya/Renji and Kyouraku/Nanao captain-vice captain interaction? It's amazing that, what with Hitsugaya being the movie's main character (much to the distress of IchiRukiRenji, I imagine), Hitsugaya and Matsumoto didn't have any of the same.

Also--we watched the raw version, so I'm kind of confused. Why in the name of sanity did random characters keep brining Hinamori's name up? She wasn't even in the movie! O_o;; (Alas.)
