I mean, hypothetically speaking, if Sam were a shark...

...I remain convinced that he would be a shortfin mako, because it is one of the most adorable kinds of shark. Look at those big puppy eyes! D'awww:

Puppy-eyed adorability aside, they're also one of the fastest creatures in the sea, with the ability to reach ~40mph speeds when sprinting after bluefin tuna. Their streamlined form and high body temperature make them swift, aggressive hunters (they're one of the few species of shark that are endothermic, or warm-blooded!). When hooked by fishermen, they've been known to unhook themselves and cause mayhem on the deck of the unsuspecting fishing vessel. And they're pretty smart, as sharks go.

Of course, they're also a threatened species because in spite of all those teeth and whatnot, they're one of the most popular types of shark to be consumed by humans. And though mako have been spotted as far north as Washington state in the summer months (and apparently the RFE?), it's probably too cold for them in Victoria in early spring. ;P

They're also sort of an indigo color, and we all know how much Sam loves purple!
