Some recs and missing fics and Dean/mirrors OTP nostalgia and stuff

Sigh. XP I've found myself in the silliest dilemma ever. I'm trying to track down a fic I read in 2010, and I can remember fairly specific things about it, but not things that spnstoryfinders would likely find all that useful.

It was written 2010, Sam/Dean, under 1000 words, involved Las Vegas in a way that I found palatable (Worst City Ever, Washington, PA being its distant second), and was stylistically inventive and very pretty. I even know who I talked to about it, but I can't remember whether it was on LJ or GChat and in any case, I've had too many conversations with her for GMail search to be helpful. XP I even remember which fic I paired it with in the conversation (and that fic I did track down--it's Stars Fall Silent From Your Eyes by marciaelena, light Sam/Dean, post-S5 DT, and it is gorgeous, and y'all should read it).

I also became reacquainted with this: i_speak_tongue's Looking Glass: Dean Winchester and his Reflection meme from 2011, which is filled with both things I haven't read and things I certainly have no problems reading again. If possible I feel even more strongly about the Dean/mirrors OTP now than ever before, because you do not want to know how many times I've rewatched the mirror scene from 9x18. In any case, I'd like to just rec this whole meme and hug it close. <333333

As for the mystery fic, I will find it. Oh, believe you me, I will find it.

On the upside, trying to track this down reminded me of another fic I'd seen on my flist at some point in late 2011 and then mentally saved to read in the future. All I could remember about it was that it was longish (5k+) and mentioned a hunting and sporting goods store in Kalispell within the first 300 words or so, and that one of you guys had written it. To clarify, that is totally not a weird detail to remember a fic by, okay. It just happens that I've been to that store IRL and that confluence was very exciting to me. XD

I did find this one! And I'm very happy that I did, because it's Rabbits Run by quickreaver, and if you haven't read it yet, you should. Set in early S7, it's all the good stuff about that period of canon in exquisite detail, from Sam's conversations with Lucifer/Hallucifer to Sam running to the perfect balance and tone and specificity of Sam/Dean/Bobby's interactions, and did I mention Sam. And also Sam? Oh, and Sam. <3

Also, if I may take a moment to be horribly self-congratulatory, I just want to point out that indeed, it actually was published in Nov. 2011, it actually is approx. 5k, and it really does mention a hunting and sporting goods store in Kalispell. Booyah. Who needs the Men of Letters when you have Livejournal??

If you need me, I will be in the bunker, hunting down vintage Vegas Wincest that, now that I think about it, might have been set in S3. Will resurface when I am victorious! Or...when I get side-tracked by more shiny things to rec. XD
