But first.
On 24 May 2013, the best movie in the world hit US theatres.
I've only seen it twice since then, with trepidation. The first was in December, maybe three weeks after Paul Walker's passing. It probably wasn't a good idea, and it wasn't fun, and getting through it with my mother and sister was a trial. I watched Fast 1 probably a week after that, which was sad but still Fast; but there's something about 6 that's really important and immediate to me.
Because we saw every trailer. The trailer premieres were written into our calendars. We knew when the Super Bowl was happening because that was the premiere venue for the first one. There were near-daily new trailer releases after that--generally just longer or shorter versions of the same clips--but we watched them all. The movie is two hours long, but we watched it for months. It took months.
I finally watched it for the fourth time last night. It was painful and loving and funny and Fast.
Top: The Fast and the Furious (2001). Bottom: Fast 6 (2013).
Fast 7 premieres 10 April 2015. I will be there. ♥
