[Rec] Podfic by brightly_lit

CHRISTMAS HAS COME AND I HAVE RECEIVED EVERYTHING I'VE EVER WANTED. <3 Which is to say, brightly_lit has recorded a stunning, wonderfully spoken podfic for a little story I wrote. It's the one that's mostly pre-series and has Sam and Dean and John visiting Carhenge, which I wrote for starrylizard.

The fic itself was unusually (but pleasantly!) popular, at least relative to me, so if you read the original and enjoyed it, please do take six minutes to listen to brightly_lit's rendition, because everything is so much more awesome in her voice! I don't listen to a lot of podfic, or audiobooks, or radio in general, but I do listen to a lot of This American Life, so I don't feel underqualified when I say that she does excellent, excellent work. Her words are crisp and clear, with this great balance of emotion and control that's just...good, and real, and beautiful. She reads silence like nobody's business, too--and okay, this sounds dumb, but there are pregnant pauses, and then there are silences with sextuplets, and the latter's what we're talking about here, and it is amazing.

Thank you so much, bb. <333

And everyone else, please check it out!! If this whets your appetite for podfic, she's also done a fantastic recording of septembers_coda's longer fic, A Marine Aubade.
