I cried three separate times. And I'm pretty sure it didn't have to do with how objectively amazing the actual song is. There really isn't anything to the lyrics, or the tune, or any of it, really. I mean, the lyrics are pretty on the nose--high schoolers doing slam poetry can be more artistic than that. But it's abundantly clear what's behind them, and why they are part of this soundtrack, and that comes through loud.
Artistry can be overrated.
