That being said, another thing that needs organizing is my master list. I'm still skeptical as to the importance of having one, and given that I haven't updated mine in a year I think the best course of action here would be to do one that's as low maintenance as possible. Since I also never post anything to AO3, I'm thinking perhaps I should use that as my masterlist--and my backup, in the event that LJ experiences an existential meltdown.
I remember hearing rumors that there's a vaguely easier way to port large amounts of fic over to AO3 in a way that's less painful that manually uploading them one by one. Is this true, and if so, how was your experience using it?
And because this post is insufferably dull, here's an entertaining quote from the book I finished this morning! The Possessed: An Adventure with Russian Books and the People Who Read Them by Elif Batuman:
I was plagued by a recurring nightmare about penguins. I had applied for a grant to go to Russia on a homestay, and the household I got assigned to was a family of penguins in Antarctica. “But penguins don’t even have a language!” I protested. In fact, those penguins did have a language, with two branches, one epic-narrative and one lyric-folkloric. I was jerked awake by the pounding of my own heart.
