My bff and I watched a live-action Rurouni Kenshin movie -->
halfway through her sister posts about Chadwick Boseman in our group chat -->
shock and sadness -->
finish movie at 1AM feeling unexpectedly emotional about the final scenes-->
credits song gives us a lot of feelings -->
look up band; discover they cite Linkin Park as an influence -->
watch their lead singer filling in for Chester at his memorial concert -->
fall into a death spiral of LP live concert videos -->
end up on the Rurouni Kenshin ending theme band's cover of "Hello" by Adele -->
this triggers Sam Winchester emotions, and I don't think it's because I inherently associate that song with Sam but I'm pretty sure I read a fanfic with the same title that was Sam-centric -->
2am, in the midst of some kind of emotional media-consuming death spiral-->
Finding this S9 scene very relatable:
"You go to bed last night?"
"Unforgiven" was on, and then I was too jacked to sleep."
All of these feelings made ALL THE MORE IMPRESSIVE because I'm pretty sure the only emotions I can reliably feel right now are extreme stress and anxiety as I confront the sheer amount of work that must be done to prep for the fall semester; how difficult it will be for students because of all the fucking shit going down in this stupid country; and the fact that at this rate LMAO I'll probably never see my family again, so.
But at least there's this, which is definitely a phone call the Winchesters have gotten at some point:
